On December 8th, Nicki Minaj’s birthday, she decided to release her highly anticipated new album “Pink Friday 2”. Nicki’s last album was released in 2018 it has been over five years since she dropped an album. Pink Friday 2 is the sequel to her debut album which was released in 2010. In this article, I will review my favorite tracks.
#5 Barbie Dangerous: Nicki’s flow was great for this track. I like the piano in this song and it fits well with the rest of the track. The piano was the main reason why I like this song but all the other elements that make up this song are also great.
#4 Needle (feat. Drake): This song totally reminded me of Drake’s hit song “One Dance” because of the beat and the production. Nice chill song with great verses by both Drake and Nicki.
#3 Let Me Calm Down (feat. J. Cole): The chopped-up sample on this song was great. Nicki was great on this song, but I feel that J. Cole carried it to make it even better. I liked this song because it reminds me of a rainy car ride home.
#2 FTCU: The unique sample from “Fuck The Club Up” by Waka Flocka Flame definitely made the song for me. It was a super fun song and Nicki was in her bag with her bars for this one.
#1 Everybody (feat. Lil Uzi Vert): This song had such a crazy vibe. It sampled the song “Move Your Feet” by Junior Senior and it was a great sample for this song. This has to be one of the most fun songs to be released in 2023. Nicki and Uzi both had good verses and came together to make a super fun track.
I liked this album more than I thought I would. Even though only 4 of the songs made my main playlist, it was still more than I expected.
