On July 28th, Travis Scott released his highly anticipated album Utopia. We had to wait over 5 years for this album since the release of his album Astroworld. This album got a whopping 496,000 sales first week and debuted at #1 on the Billboard hot 100. In this article I will be going over my top 6 favorite songs 3 months after the release. 

#6: HYAENA: Hyaena is the intro to the album. When the beat kicks in after the intro it gave me goosebumps when I first heard it. The beat is so villainous and epic. 

#5: FE!N (feat. Playboi Carti): This song is so epic. When I first heard Carti saying “Fein, Fein, Fein,” I was so hyped. I wasn’t sure if it was him right away and not many people thought so either. When I first heard his deep voice I thought he was Gunna but then realized it was him and it was a very iconic moment. I wish I could hear this song for the first time again.

#4: SKITZO (feat. Young Thug): This song has grown on me so much lately. The violin at the beginning is a super cool touch. The beats are amazing and both Travis and Thug have great flow.

#3: LOOOVE (feat. Kid Cudi): This song is so creepy. The one part where the music cuts out and plays weird scary noises is so cool. The best part is the end when the song cuts out and comes back for Cudi’s part for sure. 

#2: SIRENS: Sirens is a super cool song and one of my favorite songs to release in 2023. The outro is really really cool and unique. The beats, the production, Travis’s vocals are all there and amazing. This song was originally supposed to feature Kanye West and no one is really sure why they cut his part, since Kanye and Travis are very good friends and frequent collaborators. Either way the song is still amazing.

#1: TIL FURTHER NOTICE (feat. James Blake & 21 Savage): This song has grown on me tremendously since the release of the album as I first thought it was boring and too long, but I now realize how amazing it is. This is definitely my favorite song of 2023 so far. The James Blake opening vocals and throughout the song are amazing. When I heard 21 Savage on this song I was surprised and excited that he was on the album twice (He also appears on the song “TOPIA TWINS” with Rob49). 21 fits so well on this song and so does Travis. I love how there isn’t an immediate jump from 21’s verse to Travis’s. The production is absolutely amazing in this song and it is just amazing  

Honorable Mention MELTDOWN (feat. Drake): This song was almost as hyped as Travis and Drake’s hit song “SICKO MODE” from Travis’s album ASTROWORLD which has over 1.8 Billion streams on spotify. This song debuted at #1 on billboard but has been taken over by “I KNOW?” which gained lots of popularity on social media. Either way this song is super good just like most of the songs on this album. I also thought the sample of the TIE fighter from Star Wars was cool.

This album is easily my pick for album of the year. It is amazing there are only 3 songs that aren’t on my playlist because of how good this album is.
