This year, the Golden State Warriors have gone through highs and lows so far. Midway through the season their record is enough to get them 8th place in the Western Conference. The Warriors are led by Stephen Curry, who has been in the league for 17 years and has the all time record for most three pointers in a career. In his whole career he has won the championship 4 times and has gotten the Most Valuable Player award twice. Another star on the team is Jimmy Butler, he has played 15 years in his career and is a 6 time All Star but has sadly suffered an ACL injury that has sustained him from playing in this season. A recent addition to the team was Kristaps Porzingis who they recently traded before the All Star break. Porzingis has won the championship and is a 1 time All Star. The Warriors have made trades throughout this season such as trading away Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield for Kristaps Porzingis and a couple of draft picks from the Atlanta Hawks. Before this trade, the Warriors were trying to get Giannis Antetokounmpo but the Bucks did not accept.
The Warriors have had many injuries throughout the past years, such as Jimmy Butler with a torn ACL, Stephen Curry with a knee injury, and Kristaps Porzingis with a strange illness. Although the Warriors have gone through a lot of injuries, it is letting younger players improve. In the 2025 draft the Warriors selected Koby Brea but later traded him for Alex Toohey and Will Richard. Will Richard is one of the only people to drop 30 points in his first ever game. Will Richard has been playing well all season and is getting even more playing time due to the injuries of the big stars on the team. Hopefully the young players can improve enough so that when the stars come back like Stephen Curry, they could try to get to the Championship.
