Spring has officially arrived and outdoor activities are now on the agenda. Spring has always been one of my favorite seasons because of the weather and beautiful scenery which makes it a perfect time to spend some time outside with friends, family or maybe just by yourself. There are so many different activities to do that sometimes it can be almost overwhelming to pick, so here are my personal favorites that always succeed in making me appreciate my surroundings and where I live.
Firstly, I love to go to farmers markets or pick ripe fruit near my home. This activity is so fun to do with friends and family because you get to experience fresh fruits that aren’t commercially grown. Farmers markets also provide a wide variety of items that aren’t just fruit and veggies. You can buy things like flowers, jewelry, pottery, food, and even baked goods. Another perk to farmers markets is that some host live music that supports small artists in the area.
Another great activity is hiking in the woods or meadows. I enjoy hiking in spring so I can hunt for flowers and clovers because it’s the only time of the year that we get to see the daffodils and poppies. I love looking for four leaf clovers because the feeling of finding a four leafed clover is truly unmatched. I highly recommend hiking in spring because the streams are flowing, the flowers are popping and the trees are regaining their leaves.
Lastly, I love to tap into my creative side and do some art like dying eggs, painting outdoors, and even decorating thrifted easter baskets. It’s always fun to see where your creativity can take you, especially in nature. I love to paint outside with watercolors, acrylics, or any medium that I have on hand. Painting spring themed art or your surroundings will always get anyone in the mood for spring. I also love dying eggs because it is fun, easy, creative, and is a great group activity to do because anyone can do it. One last creative spring idea is to thrift easter or foraging baskets and decorate them with fun colors designs and textures.
Spring is the time to spend in nature and with loved ones so I hope this list will inspire you to enjoy and appreciate nature’s beauty a little bit more.
