Will my team let the ball fall in front of them, or will they hit it over the net and get us a point? This is what my team is thinking at our first volleyball games of the season. Our team was so nervous and excited for our first games that we couldn’t wait to know if we would do well or not. So far, we have played Davidson Middle School, Kent Middle School, and Mark Day School.
On September 24, Lagunitas Middle School started with their first game of the season at Davidson Middle School in San Rafael. Starting strong, Lagunitas won their first match, staying ahead the whole game. The first match’s final score was 21-25, with Lagunitas winning. After having a short break, Lagunitas and Davidson start their second game. Davidson has some excellent serves, but Lagunitas does not return the ball. The second match ends with Davidson Middle School winning 25-20. With each team winning one match, the 3rd match starts. The final games score 15-12 with Davidson winning.
On October 1, Lagunitas hosted the game here at the gym in San Geronimo. We played against Kent Middle School. As Kent was warming up, Lagunitas got intimidated by the other team’s players, who were taller and had a more powerful serve. The match was 13-25 with Kent winning. The second match was 18-25 with Kent winning. The final game was 15-13 with Lagunitas winning.
On October 8, Lagunitas Middle School drove to Mark Day Middle School in San Rafael. We didn’t have a good first match, losing 25-8. As we started the second match Mark Day was in the lead, 9-1. Later in the game, Lagunitas pulled ahead, putting the score at 18-20, with Laguntias in the lead. We won the match, with the final score being 21-25. Lagunitas didn’t do well in the last match losing 15-5.
Overall our team has had a great time playing our first games and practices of the season. Unfortunately, we haven’t won any games yet, but hopefully, we will win in our future games. We can’t wait for more games and practices to come and it will be fun to see how our team progresses. Go Bobcats!
